Ever wanted to photograph the night sky but not sure how to get the best out of your equipment to do it? Let me guide you through it on one of my private astrophotography tours.

When booking one of my astrophotography tours you’ll be picked up at your accommodation and transported to a dark sky location somewhere around Queenstown. There you will be assisted to get the most out of your equipment to produce stunning night sky images for yourself. Each tour will last approximately three hours costing $350pp.

  • A dslr or mirrorless camera - You must have a basic knowledge of your camera operation. Changing of f/stop, iso, exposure and navigation of your camera’s menu’s.

  • Camera lens - Your lens should be f/2.8 or larger. Wider focal lengths are also better to enable you to capture a foreground with the night sky. Personally I use a Tamron 15-30mm F/2.8.

  • A sturdy tripod - This is essential when taking long exposure shots of the night sky.

  • Warm clothes - We’ll be shooting at night. Depending on the time of year temperatures can be close or below freezing depending on the time of year.

  • An intervalometer - This is optional. Most camera’s have an intervalometer setting within their settings menu.

  • Tour cost is $350(NZ) per person.

  • Tour sizes are limited to a maximum of four people.
